State Farm Arena
State Farm Arena opened in 2003 as the premier multi-use venue in the Hidalgo/McAllen metro area. The venue was known as Dodge Arena for most of its existence before changing to State Farm Arena in 2010. Currently the seating capacity is listed at 6,800. The State Farm Arena box office is located at 2600 North SH 336 in downtown Hidalgo, Texas. State Farm Arena concerts have included acts like Alan Jackson, George Strait, Carrie Underwood, and many of today's hottest traveling artists.
The facility is popular for its holiday ice skating and charity events towards the end of the year. All recreational league hockey games are free admission and on more than one occasion have had turnouts of more than 1,000 spectators. The arena does not currently host a professional team, but remains available as a halfway point for travelling teams for both hockey and basketball leagues.
